DMBS Bonedeth demo pics

My buddy John Gabler from 333 photo designs sent me what he took for pictures of the BoneDeth demo we had at the shop on Tuesday. Hope you enjoy.

Bio: Matt Pappas

This is the second dude on my list of guys that should be getting more notice. He is someone that I have watched grow up and become a guy some amazing bike control. He literally shreds anything he rides. Everytime I ride with him he amazes me with something or other. He's smooth and goes big, makes the most out of the smallest object that you'd think not even rideable. He's got so many spin tricks I don't even know how to begin to explain to you how much fun it is to watch him ride. He's definitely one of my favorite guys to ride with and everytime I do get to go ride with him it's a good session. His name is Matt Pappas. If you haven't seen or heard of him you probably soon will he is definitely makin' moves, the dude shreds. I asked Matt to give us a quick run-down of his current situation, so here goes:
Living Status: Bridgewater Ma
Riding Status: Cruzing the streets with friends having a good time, thats what it's all about anyways.
Life Status: Couch Life, Living the dream
Future Plans: Riding and traveling as much as I can. Staying out of the winter.

Table of the week

This weeks table is of Dave Riker from Saturday's Autumn Brand Jam photo by 333 photo designs.

Entitlement

Over the past few months I noticed that alot more people think that BMX owes them something. Like they should be getting free parts or paid for riding, yet offering nothing in return except a web edit that any other person with a flip camera and some half ass-ed editing software could whip up in fifteen minutes and a shitty attitude. Shit everytime I turn around I hear people trying to get something for nothing. Do they think that they're better than the everyone else riding out there? Sure some of them have some talent and are pretty good, but I know a handful of guys that are literally killing themselves to try and "make" it and are a hell of a lot more humble that these shitheads. After 27 years of riding I realized that I owe my entire life to BMX (kinda one of the reasons I started this blog in the first place). BMX owes nothing to no one! Go about riding and if by chance you get noticed and helped out, then congratulations. You should be so lucky to be getting free parts or better yet paid for doing something you enjoy. People need to learn that they need work for things and not have them handed to them. I believe that is a real problem with the ongoing generations, less people feel like they need to work to earn things. Alot of people have a sense of entitlement, well I'm here to tell ya.....if you don't work hard for what you want, then you don't deserve to have it. This is just something that has been on my mind and if you don't agree well then I feel sorry for you.

Facebook and Twitter

On a roll today with the posts, but I've been wanting to tell everyone that you can follow Tables and Fables on Facebook and Twitter. Click the links to get you to them. Those are updated daily. Check em out.

Big things

Kind of excited to say that I'm working on some things. I'm not gonna say exactly what at this time but I will say that I'm psyched on them. Big things for this year. Keep your eyes peeled phase one is gonna start soon!

Autumn Brand Jam Tomorrow

Just a reminder that the 6th annual Autumn Brand Jam is tomorrow. If you know what's good you'll show up there. Looks like the monsoon season is behind us and we're gonna have good weather. This is the only regional jam that brings everyone together. Doesn't matter where your from or what you ride, everyone is welcome. We should be grilling and looks like we'll have a generator with some tunes blastin'. So get your ass off the couch, (which probably has a good butt groove from the last 10 days of this weather) and come out and have some fun. This year looks like it gonna be a real good turnout. Hope to see everyone there.

Next Tuesday we're having a second demo at the shop with the Bonedeth guys. Almost the entire team will be here. Starts at 4pm and will be sponsored by Vitamin water. Swing by and watch the action.

Bike Check: Justin Gamache

For those of you that don't know him, Justin is a part time employee of the shop. His bike is always dialed and in near perfect shape. He recently put together one the the new T-1 Hickerson frames and I decided that we needed to take a closer look at what he had going on.

Bio: Greg Doliber

I'd like to take a start showcasing a few people that I think stand out and should be given a little more attention. First up is a friend of mine that deserves some. His name is Greg Doliber. If you don't know the name you soon will, he goes big. Greg will three down something that most people wouldn't even look at to drop straight on. Recently he's been getting hooked up from S&M and he's been a part of the Maul's bike shop team for some time now. Greg is somebody that is hard to tie down and figure out, he's been back and forth between east and west coast quite a bit in the last few years. So you never know when he's gonna pop up back east, but everytime he's home it's a treat to ride with him. Without going to much further I asked Greg to summarize his current situation.

Living Situation: I dont know, Im in SF right now, back in Boston soon? Nothing is ever set in stone. One simple change in my life, and I try to move around.
Riding Situation: Healing. CxOAST. I like big drops, spins and tables. Can't back complicated tech tricks and slow stuff. fast and simple! S&M and Mauls bike shop have been helping me out big time. Big THANK YOU.
Working Situation: Whole Foods. I transfer all the time and can get time off pretty easily and frequently.
Plans for the future: Ever changing. I want to own a shop or work at one. I want to ride til' I can't.

Last Holeshot issue

Long time friend Nick Ferreira is trying to get the funds together to make the final issue of Holeshot zine happen. Go Here to help out the cause and donate whatever you can to make this a reality. Lend a hand and help a brother out. Holeshot is one of the last real zines' around and I for one will be sad to see it go. The final issue sounds like it's gonna be sweet. He says it's gonna be a box set including:

Andrew Burton Hyde Pride Zine - Interviews, photos, and more relating the to great skatepark located in Hyde Park, Massachusetts.
Chester Jones -  Blazeguard
Kyle Emery-Peck - set of 10 color and black and white 4x6 photographs
Jake Honesto - Bears
Matt Gaspar - Hangn Brain 2 - Holeshot's funniest contributor. Responsible for the famed Hank Hill bikecheck, Beetlejuice Trail Digger drawing, Evolution of Osiris D3's article.
Vinny Martin - North Park
Nick Ferreira - TBDHolyshit or Suburban Shred II - Holeshot DVD
and more to be disclosed

Sounds like it's gonna be awesome and something that you'll wanna have for years to look back on.
